The Bug Man was started in 1976 by West Terre Haute native, John Vermillion. The business was run out of his home for 30 years and has been at the current location since that time. John is still the owner, but over the years he has added several employees to provide excellent, hometown service.
When John was first starting out in pest control, licensing was not required. Now that it is, you can be certain that all of The Bug Man’s technicians are rigorously tested by the state of Indiana and are licensed. Continuing education credits are also required. Ongoing education allows each technician to become familiar with the most current materials and safety procedures in use today. By constantly training and educating our technicians, we insure that you are receiving the best protection in the pest control industry.
Safety is very important to The Bug Man. We’re frequently asked if our service is safe for children and pets. Our technicians are trained and experienced with the materials we use and their use around children and pets. Customers will be informed if it is necessary for adults, children, or pets to be away from the property during a treatment.
Integrated Pest Management
The Bug Man uses an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program on all jobs. The goal of IPM is to develop a comprehensive attack plan using a combination of tools (mechanical, physical, and chemical) to cost effectively control the pest with the least amount of risk to your environment.
